THE DRAM BOYS, Jordan Cannady and Richmond Cargill, are a duo specializing in acoustic Scottish and Celtic folk music. Their repertoire showcases the best of Scotland's musical heritage. It celebrates both the mystical beauty of the Celtic ballad, and the raucous qualities of the wilder tunes. Their arrangements are a tight blending of voice and acoustic instruments that take traditional songs such as Ye Jacobites and Danny Boy and make them their own.
THE DRAM BOYS have performed in festivals and Scottish events throughout the United States and Canada. Individually, the members have performed in England, Wales and in Scotland. Closer to their home base in Rhodes Island they’ve performed several concerts at Waterfire in Providence, several outdoor concerts at the RI State House, a special 2 hour afternoon of Scottish music at Border’s Books and Café and numerous appearances at various Burn’s Night suppers and festivals throughout Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut.
In 2006 THE DRAM BOYS performed a historic 2 hour evening picnic concert as part of the Westerly Library’s Summer Concert Series and as the opening act to the annual Shakespeare in the Park production performed in the gorgeous Victorian Strolling Garden, Wilcox Park
During their 2007 season THE DRAM BOYS repeated their support of the bard by doing another 1 hour concert before a Shakespeare in the Park production staged in a vineyard in Dartmouth, MA.
Wherever they perform, whether on local television, on stage or in the splendor of New England scenic parks, THE DRAM BOYS encourage all the residents of Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Massachusetts of Scottish descent attending their concerts to come properly kilted out. The DRAM BOYS like nothing better than to see an audience full o’ kilts.
